Among the Mira Venetian villas, we must mention the splendid Villa Sceriman Widmann Rezzonico Foscari, built in the 18th century by Tirali and now owned by Venice Provincial Council; the 16th century Villa Alessandri, with the lovely baroque guest quarters; the barchesse in Villa Valmarana; the 16th century Villa Querini-Stampalia and Villa Contarini or “dei Leoni” due to the two lovely sculptures at the entrance.
The best way to visit the Mira Venetian villas is by boat, leaving from Fusina to sail along the silent canals before the lagoon gives way to the land.
